Four 420-Friendly Thanksgiving Hacks

The holidays are right around the corner. Seriously—we only have like ten more days. But with that said, it's high time to start thinking about how you're going to get through it with grace and dignity. If you're not a chef and are more likely to be the person who crashes the family dinner and takes a pre-game walk with the cousins to get your head right, this one's for you. Try these four thanksgiving hacks to stay medicated and personable this holiday.

Hack #1: Stock up on the discreet stuff.

Whether you cook or not doesn't really matter, but if you're going to be hanging out with prohibitionist-era family members, it always pays to be discreet. A few ways to do that involve opting for edibles instead of bringing in the flower or dabs. You can also opt for odorless vape carts that you can get away with puffing inside on the sly.

Hack #2: Bring your own butter.

Butter is a holiday staple; you can slather that stuff on everything. If you're heading into a situation at the in-law's house where medicating will be frowned upon, just bring your own butter. Cannabutter is super discreet and easy to use. Just slap some of it onto warm dinner rolls or chuck a helping of it into the mashed potatoes. You can also mix a little bit of it into the gravy, which is the perfect way to enjoy your thanksgiving dinner and still stay discreet.

Just keep in mind you'll want to make your own cannabutter first. There are tons of recipes online. Or, y'know— you could enter to win our November giveaway for a magical butter machine, which you'll have just in time for the Christmas festivities.

Hack #3: Bring 420-Friendly Appetizers

Maybe your group is cool with the green. At that rate, surprise them with your culinary skills and pull up to the adult's table with something everyone will love. Even if you suck at cooking, some really good crowd-pleasing recipes are out there, like these THC-oil-infused cheese balls.

To make it, you'll need:

  • A block of cream cheese

  • 1 tbsp of cannabis cooking oil

  • ½ cup of shredded cheese (of your choice)

  • ½ tbsp fresh dill

  • ½ tbsp pickle juice (or vinegar)

  • ½ tsp paprika and garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Your choice of toppings (i.e. bacon, nuts, more cheese, pretzels, etc.)

  • Crackers for serving

To make it:

  • Mix everything and form it into a nice ball

  • Roll the cheeseball in your favorite toppings and put that bad boy in the fridge until it's time to serve it.

  • Remove from the fridge an hour before serving, and then serve it up with bread or crackers.

Hack #4: Use edibles to fight after-turkey fatigue

Turkey is no joke. That tryptophan, alongside copious amounts of a thanksgiving feast, can make it feel like an uphill battle to keep your eyes open— and that can be problematic if you've got a night of conversation and games ahead of you. Weed cookies are discreet and sharable but may also help combat some after-dinner fatigue. If you want to rally, don't forget to pack in the edibles or make your own.

At the end of the day, whether you can cook or not, there are plenty of ways to enjoy weed discreetly at Thanksgiving this year. Don't forget to stay hydrated, and never share your medicated snacks with friends or family without telling them what's in them. If you're looking for a place to start stocking up, look no further than Flower Ave. Our massive selection of flower, edibles, and vape carts are the perfect addition to your holiday season this year.
